In another life , Edge could have been a rock star. From his voluminous hair to his long leather jackets and double-horns signature pose, every detail of his WWE image screamed it. As the pyro blasted into the air behind him on the entranceway before he stepped into the ring, he injected arenas with the energy of a packed concert – without the dangers of crowd-surfing and mosh pits. There was even a legion of groupies – Edgeheads – who tracked his every move.

It’s no surprise, then, that Edge is a guitar collector and grew up listening to KISS, a band famous for their flamboyant outfits and outrageous stage antics. What is a surprise is how a shy high schooler from the little town of Orangeville, Ontario, evolved into The Rated-R Superstar.

Even though he was voted “Most Likely to Be WWE Champion” by his classmates, Edge’s path to the grand stage was anything but predetermined. The only spotlights beaming down were at the local factories where he worked odd jobs to help his single-parent mother pay the bills. Still, Edge dreamed big while idolizing larger-than-life entertainers like Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage. At 18, Edge got the lucky break he needed in the form of an essay contest offered by a gym in Toronto. The prize? Free wrestling training – a prime opportunity for The Ultimate Opportunist.

Adam “Edge” Copeland debuted for AEW following the main event of WrestleDream as he used his Metalingus theme. Edge made the save for Darby Allin following a heel turn by Nick Wayne. Edge, who was called the Rated R Superstar, chased off the heels with a steel chair as Christian teased a con-chair-to on Sting.

AEW WrestleDream 2023 advertised a predominately male show featuring MJF defending the ROH Tag Team Championships against The Righteous. Chris Jericho and the Golden Elite will face the Don Callis Family TNT champion Christian Cage vs. Darby Allin. AEW also advertised one of its patented “dream matches” with no build on television as a limited army of Subrettitors salivate over Bryan Danielson and Zach Sabre Jr.

Some AEW People Believe Edge To AEW Is A “Real Possibility”

It was noted that there are “many people in AEW that think that Copeland coming in could be a real possibility.” People close to Copeland believe that going to AEW isn’t as far “out there” as you might think.

There are obviously many people within AEW that Edge is close with. Christian Cage has been his best friend since childhood and when WWE didn’t re-sign Christian in 2021, he jumped to AEW where he has competed on a part-time schedule similar to Edge’s run in WWE in the last three and a half years.

Copeland is also close with the FTR team of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler since they live close to eachother in North Carolina and spent time in the ring together when Copeland was making his in-ring return comeback.

The report adds that “it was being discussed by a lot of people in AEW even before claimed the match with Sheamus would be his last on his contract.”

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is a professional wrestling promotion founded in 2019 by billionaire businessman Shahid Khan and his son, Tony Khan. AEW has quickly gained prominence as a major competitor to WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) in the world of professional wrestling. It has garnered a dedicated fan base and has been praised for its fresh approach to wrestling and its focus on athleticism and storytelling.

It is also very well known that when Edge contemplated his in-ring return in 2019-2020, he did talk to AEW’s Tony Khan before coming to an agreement with WWE on a three-year deal for about $3 million per year guaranteed.

turns 50 years old in October. He has said that he generally feels pretty good considering his age and injury history. What’s next could be a return to WWE, a retirement from in-ring competition or perhaps going to AEW. It appears to be a legitimate option at this point.

While it’s not quite the same championship gave up in 2011, it stands to reason that the “Ultimate Opportunist” may still have the desire to capture the gold one last time. That scenario could mirror the storybook ending fellow Canadian Trish Stratus received when she retired in Toronto back at Unforgiven 2006, winning the WWE Women’s Championship on her last night as a full-time in-ring competitor.

Alternatively ,he can have an extended run up until WrestleMania 40, even without winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Instead, he can face off and give the nod to a burgeoning main-eventer, like a Grayson Waller or LA Knight on the “Grandest Stage of them All,” keeping up with the wrestling tradition of exiting superstars ending their careers on their backs, staring up at the lights in the name of “giving back to the business.”
